If you fancy getting away for a show, a meal out and a change of scenery, Birmingham has plenty to build a short break around this autumn. You can make the main event the centre of your trip, then leave room for a slower morning and a wander before heading home.
We’re Sam and Selina, and our Birmingham Cube View apartment gives you a city base with space to unwind between plans. Here are a few October dates to consider, followed by the details we suggest checking before you book.
Birmingham Comedy Festival: 2–11 October 2026
Visit Birmingham lists the festival across these dates, with performances at different venues around the city. Pick your comedian or show first, then check the actual venue and start time. A festival ticket listing does not mean every performance happens in the same place.
For a relaxed evening, leave time to eat before the show rather than trying to fit dinner into a short interval. Check the event’s age guidance if you’re bringing younger guests. The official October events guide is a useful starting point for the programme and booking links.
Birmingham Cocktail Weekend: 22–25 October 2026
The winter edition is listed for Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 October. It could suit a grown-up city break with friends or a couple’s weekend. Check the organiser’s participating venues, ticket arrangements and terms before planning your evening; your accommodation booking does not include admission or drinks.
Choose a handful of stops rather than rushing across the city, and arrange a safe way home. You can enjoy Birmingham’s food scene alongside your plans without making every hour of the weekend a scheduled activity.
Make room for theatre, music and a quieter morning
The October guide also lists shows at Birmingham Hippodrome, Symphony Hall and Utilita Arena Birmingham. Match the programme to your dates and interests, and buy tickets from the venue or its authorised seller. Check travel separately for events at the NEC, which is outside the city centre.
After a late evening, a gentle start may be exactly what you want. Our Birmingham shopping guide can help you plan another part of the trip, while our SEA LIFE guide is useful if you’re visiting as a family.

- Read Cube View’s current sleeping arrangements, parking information and booking terms before reserving.
- Allow time for the journey, check-in and any pre-arrival requirements.
- If you’re unsure whether the apartment suits your group, ask us before booking.
